Description

Though it offers little in terms of geographic information, this whimsical map of the ‘World of Max Fischer’ adds some fun context to the film Rushmore. The protagonist, Max, can be seen in the lower right; while a number of other characters, important plot devices, and locations are illustrated throughout the image. The upper right references another iconic quote from the movie – “My top schools where I want to apply to are Oxford and the Sorbonne. But my safety’s Harvard.”

The map was illustrated by E.C. Anderson, brother of director Wes Anderson, and published with the film’s release in 1998.
