Description
This informational world map was published in Washington, D.C. in 1966 by the Civic Education Service as Volume 4 Number 1 in its Headline-Focus Wall Map Series. The brightly colored image shows global political outlines as of the summer of that year, with red nations represented in the ‘Headline Events’ section at the bottom of the page. Inset maps in the lower corners show Southeast Asia and Europe – two areas of particular interest in the midst of strong protests against the Vietnam War and efforts of foreign leaders to end the conflict. Other notable events include a military coup in Argentina, a visit by Senator Robert Kennedy to South Africa, and the celebration of 1,000 years of Christianity in Poland.
