Description

This pedestrian guide to the artistic mecca of Greenwich Village, New York City was distributed by the Greenwich Village Artists Gallery and Museum. It’s the seventh edition, issued in June of 1944.

Nearly 200 different locations are numbered within the image, which encompasses a small area of about 6 x 14 blocks on the east side of Manhattan. The recommended walking path is shown in black and the accompanying text in the upper left insists “all the visitor has to do is read the text and follow the black line.”

Scarce, with only one example identified in OCLC (1940, at the New York Historical Library). Blank on verso.
