Over forty pages of text provide a succinct (if somewhat biased) historical summary of the events during those three critical days in early July, 1863 (plus those events leading up to the engagement). Includes a three-color folding map that offers a topographic overview of the battlefield, noting individual unit actions and major landmarks. Published in Philadelphia in 1864 by J.B. Lippincott & Co.

Condition Description: 47 pp. guidebook bound to dark green pebbled cloth binding with gilt lettering on the front cover. Wear to covers and spine and moderate foxing throughout, though contents remain tightly bound. Front flyleaf missing, with gift inscription immediately following. Includes a fold out map that measures about 11.75" x 18". Moderate foxing in the margins and numerous splits along folds (repaired on verso using a variety of materials, some old, some new). Good condition overall.
