“Whether you’re an excited visitor or a cynical citizen, there’s a place for you here. Come and enjoy Central Park; it was planned for you.” These words, found on the back of this fold-out map, were issued as a plea to encourage visitors to the park during a period of general decline in the 1970’s.
The Central Park Community Fund, publisher of the guide, was organized in 1974 to help boost public interest and obtain funding for repairs, equipment, and maintenance. A detailed look at one of New York City’s most iconic landmarks.
