Description

This anonymous print was issued in the first few years of the 20th century to highlight the operations of The Oshkosh & Neenah Interurban Electric Railway. A simple map showing the route between Oshkosh and Neenah, Wisconsin is accompanied by photographs of the Trolley-Wire Erecting Car, the Construction Train, the Interior of the Power Station, and a View Along the Line of Railway. According to a contemporary issue of Engineering-News Record;

“The interurban electric railway between Oshkosh and Neenah, Wis., a distance of 16 miles, was put in regular operation in the early part of September, 1899 and connects at Neenah with the Fox River Valley electric railway…

The completion of this new line forms an important link in the proposed electric railway system from Chicago through Milwaukee to Green Bay, Wis., a distance of 198 miles, of which lines aggregating 106 miles are now in operation.”
