Description

This view from an Istanbul slave market presents the elegant minarets and massive dome of the Nuruosmaniye Mosque. Several figures are shown, but their relevance to the slave trade is uncertain. The print was engraved by H. Griffiths after a drawing by the talented William Henry Barton and published in London around 1840.
