A quick Google search for the frenzy over Tickle-Me-Elmos gives one a faint impression of the animatronic doll craze in the late 1980s and 1990s. Teddy Ruxpin was released in 1985, and his popularity quickly spawned a TV series and numerous associated toy releases.
This is a massive promotional map of Teddy’s home, the Land of Grundo, that was published in 1986 by Alchemy II, Inc. (the toy’s producer). Various landmarks and locations of interest are illustrated in a whimsical style, The adorable bear’s popularity continues into the 21st century – in 2019 the Jim Henson Company (of Muppets fame) announced they would be creating a new television series around the toy.
