The Inner World of Skartaris

A ‘Hollow Earth’ setting for the comic book, Warlord.

Actually, of course, it is not a map of the whole inner earth, but only that part of it which has been fairly well explored by Travis Morgan in his travels. This fun pictorial comic book map was designed by Pat Broderick and Bob Smith and published by DC Comics in 1985. It shows an overview of the land of Skartaris, an ancient world trapped beneath the modern planetary crust.

Dinosaurs, mutated lizard men, titans, and bog-men are among a few of the hazards faced by the protagonist, an Air Force pilot named Travis Morgan who discovered a passage to the subterranean land at the North Pole. An inset in the lower left outlines the confusing geography more clearly.
