This map shows the theater of the Gulf War in the Middle East from the Mediterranean Sea to the Gulf of Oman. Countries are delineated by color, while two keys identify the numerous symbols used to show the locations of military bases, wartime infrastructure and troop dispositions.

An inset map and accompanying chronology shows the results of Operation Desert Shield – the buildup of Allied forces in Saudi Arabia from August 1990 to January 1991. The next phase of the conflict would be known as Operation Desert Storm and would see coalition forces push back Iraqi troops from Kuwait.

The verso of the sheet is a comprehensive illustrated overview of the weaponry used by the Iraqi and Allied military forces.
