Description
This charming pictorial map presents the principal wine-growing regions of West Germany, with the Rhine River forming its north–south axis from Bonn toward Basel. Other river valleys, including those of the Mosel, Main, and Neckar, are lined with vineyards, small towns, and historic cities. Coats of arms, a decorative border, and an elaborate compass rose enliven the composition. Text on the verso provides brief descriptions of the different wine-growing areas and their distinctive characteristics.
The map was copyrighted by the Verband Deutscher Weinexporteure of Bonn and published in Mainz around 1965 by Diemer-Verlag. Printed by D. Meininger.
