This ephemeral brochure was printed in 1893 by the American Bank Note Company to advertise the New York Central’s special route to the Columbian Exposition in Chicago. Billed as ‘The Fastest Train on Earth’, the Exposition Flyer would travel between New York’s Grand Central Station And Chicago in a mere 20 hours, reaching speeds as high as 112 mph! Images of the luxurious interiors (sleep car, dining car, smoking & library car) are accompanied by a timetable, a description of the route, and a small map.
