The Eleven Regional Federation Comprising the World Federation System
An audacious proposal for a New World Order after the dust of WWII had settled.

Description
This colorful political map uses a clever map projection designed by Richard Edes Harrison to highlight a preposterous proposal for sustainable world peace. Eleven separate World Federations are numbered across the image that puts the United States front and center. The Indian Federation and Malaysian Federation (encompassing most of Indonesia and Indochina) are noted as autonomous special trustees of Britain and America, respectively. Oddly, a handful of states are shaded as Unattached (Scandinavia) or Two-Way (Mongolia, Madagascar, and Iceland).
While the idea might be well-intentioned, it clearly favors American interests and a number of important factors are largely overlooked, including regional nationalism, resource allocation, natural boundaries, etc. Ethnic and racial identities are thrown out the window – the Latin-European Federation encompasses all of West Africa!
The map was published to accompany World Peace, written by Eli Culbertson in 1943. Culbertson was best known as a successful card player who widely popularized contract bridge, but he began to dabble in political theory and peace activism near the end of his career.
