Description
With portraits encircled by fire hoses and vignettes of the two large fires in the preceding three years, this multi-image print is a fitting tribute to the courage and hard work of Chicago’s (busy) firefighters of the 1870s. The grandeur of the Chamber of Commerce and Exposition Buildings, visible in the lower corners, was made possible due to the diligent efforts of those working to keep the blazes in check.
