Description
“The position is not an easy one; and the occupant, whoever he may be…will have little leisure to pluck a thorn or plant a rose in his own pathway.” This quote from Abraham Lincoln, seen near the top of the sheet, is one of several provided by American presidents when describing the role, which is visually depicted on this map.
Thirty seven illustrations show scenes from across the country, each of which are associated with a president (up to Nixon) and explained in the accompanying index. Bronze busts of the same group can be seen on either side of the map, while a border comprising hallmark political initiatives surrounds the entire image.
Artwork provided by O. William Neebe, while design was overseen by Stan Wilson. Published in 1972 by History House, Inc.
