Description
This handsome 20th-century reprint of Terrae Sanctae Tabula reproduces the influential 16th-century Holy Land map by Sebastian Munster. First issued in Munster’s monumental Cosmographia, the woodcut image blends Biblical and Classical sources to present the Levant from a western perspective during the Reformation Era.
A rubber stamp on the verso indicates the souvenir print was made by Israel by Universitas Booksellers. The publishing house and second-hand bookstore was founded in Jerusalem by Hermann Meyer in 1937.
