Description
This pair of maps and accompanying report was created by members of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to explore the possibility of federal intervention in securing the supply of drinking water for West Point. The growth of the historic military facility (especially after the Spanish-American War) necessitated additional infrastructure and the proposal outlines the acquisition of watershed lands and the construction of a 6″ main pipeline.
Published by the Government Printing Office in 1903 as part of a Congressional report on internal improvements.
