Description

“Turn the disc so that the date corresponds with the hour of night. Face the south and hold the chart overhead with the covern marked NORTH pointing north. The stars and constellations will then be seen as they are on the chart.” – Instructions.

This handy celestial volvelle would have been a useful reference for young astronomers peering eagerly into the night sky during the mid-20th century. Text about the zodiac, position of planets, and major stars can be found on the verso.
