Description

Urban centers and infrastructure are depicted in black on this sportsmen’s map of the state of Pennsylvania, issued in 1952 by the state’s game commission. Color is reserved for differentiating between various land uses, including game farms (orange), state parks (green), game refuges (red), and propagation areas (yellow). Fish hatcheries, archery hunting preserves, and dog training facilities are also identified on the map and within the legend.

A decorative border containing illustrations of many game animals found within the state is based on artwork drawn in 1941 by Fred Everett.
