Pictorial recreation map of Mount Shasta and Siskiyou County in northern California.

This densely illustrated map, focused on Mt. Shasta, was produced by the local chambers of commerce to entice visitors and tourists to the county. It shows the area from the Oregon border to Shasta Lake, and includes comical illustrations such as a sleeping hunter looked upon by a confused deer, an expectorating fish, and unlucky golfer. Historical details, public campsites, and important industries are also depicted.

On the verso are photographs and descriptions of the cities of Weed, Mount Shasta, and Dunsmuir, as well as information on the legendary lost continent of Lemuria. A charming map of one of California’s most beautiful counties.
