Description
Opryland USA (later Opryland Theme Park) opened in 1972 in Nashville, Tennessee and was billed as “the home of American Country Music.” The Grand Ole Opry House took over from Ryman Auditorium to become the seat of the Opry in 1974, and the Opryland Hotel was completed in 1977.
This map, published as a souvenir near the height of Opryland’s popularity, shows the latter in the upper right corner. A pictorial map of the park occupies the rest of the page, offering an illustrated bird’s eye view of the various attractions, rides, and amenities available to visitors. Although it closed in 1997, the park averaged 2.5 million parkgoers annually in the late 1980s.
