This self-described ‘fascinating trip through Movieland’ lists the location of residences and studios of dozens of the nation’s most famous performers. Numbered stars within the image correspond to the names in the border, with an explanation of the abbreviations used in the lower right.
Ranging from Walt Disney to John Wayne, the index includes a pantheon of familiar characters from the twilight years of the Golden Age of Cinema. Night clubs, theaters, movie studios, and other places of interest are listed in tables at the top of the sheet.
The map was originally copyrighted and published in Los Angeles by Martha T. Lake in 1953. It was reissued regularly, with this example showing updates through the Summer of 1955. Original price – $1.00.
