Description

A vintage map of the original Six Flags (representing the six ruling flags of Texas – Spain, Mexico, France, Texas, Confederacy and the United States) published less than 20 years after the park opened in 1960. The parent company experienced significant growth throughout the 60’s and 70’s, adding new locations in Georgia, Missouri and Houston. The original park also expanded due to it’s popularity, adding Boomtown and Good Times Square, in addition to numerous new rides seen here.

Specific areas of the park are dedicated to each nation, and a text box declares that Six Flags “is what you wish the world could be.” The former mascot of the park, Cyrus Cosmo, can be seen riding a lighting bolt and dancing at the bottom.
