First opened on July 1st, 1974, Jackson, New Jersey’s Great Adventure amusement park was acquired by Six Flags in 1977. This commemorative map was sold as a souvenir two years later and provides a brightly illustrated overview of the park.
Numerous rides, attractions, food options, and guest amenities are charmingly illustrated and labeled in a style very representative of the era. Highlights include the Nestea Log Flume, Goodtime Alley, Lightning Loops, and Runaway Train. The latest roller coaster, Rolling Thunder, is featured prominently in the lower left and opened the same year as publication of the map.
