Opened to the public in 1934, the Chicago Zoological Park (known today as the Brookfield Zoo) could hardly have been called new by the time these timetables were released in 1941. Nonetheless, the zoo remained a powerful draw for Chicago tourists and residents alike, aided by discounted fares along the Burlington Route from Union Station. “Fast, clean, comfortable and efficient service. No change of cars; no parking problem; no traffic jam.”
The booklet includes two maps; one shows the brief three-block walk between the C.B. & Q. depot at Hollywood, and the second provides a lovely illustrated overview of the zoo.
