Description

This is a lovely example of the 3rd annual edition of the Seattle Tourmap, designed and produced by Richard and Marjorie Ingalls and published locally by their company in 1965. A colorful overview of various businesses, points of interest, historic sites, and more are provided atop a legible street grid. Accompanying text and a second inset map on the verso provide useful information for travelers.

According to their website, “Tourmap Company was founded in 1962 by the artistic, globe-trotting couple Marjorie and Richard Ingalls. Tourmap draws on their experiences with helpful, colorful maps that are also useful souvenirs. Having an easy to read tool while walking around a big city has always been the goal of Tourmap.”
