This stylized map of Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania shows little of the region’s political organization or infrastructure. Straight red lines reflect simplified transportation routes between towns and cities and international borders are inked in black, but otherwise the image focuses almost entirely on the incredible fauna of the region.
The Big Five game animals of African safaris are all illustrated; lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and Cape buffalo. Smaller animals, like the warthog, hyena, and antelope are also shown and play an equally crucial role in maintaining the fragile ecosystem. Preservation of this system is the motivating factor behind the issue of this map, which was sponsored by the World Wildlife Fund.
