First opened in 1907, the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is the oldest operating amusement park in California and remains an iconic attraction for beachgoers today. This bold illustration was issued in 1979 as part of a promotional package including a color brochure and 1979 fare card/price list (only $5.95 for unlimited rides).

Rides, facilities, ticket booths, and parking lots are labeled within the image and various attractions are listed around the border. The view is dominated by the Giant Dipper, a wooden roller coaster constructed in 1924 that is now registered as a National Historic Landmark. Includes the original postmarked mailing envelope.
