Description

This charming mid-century giveaway was designed in 1957 by the Sandusky Tourist Bureau and printed locally by the Stephens Printing Corporation. It unfolds to present a charming pictorial map that shows how the city is quite literally situated ‘within the heart of Ohio.’ Points of interest and attractions like Cedar Point, Marblehead Lighthouse, and Kellys Island are illustrated and individually labeled.

Nearby communities are identified, though without reference to distance, so it’s difficult to assess if the claim “easy to reach from anywhere” holds true. A second map, near the bottom of the page, provides a simple street outline of the town. Accompanying promotional text and photographs give further evidence that “You’ll enjoy Sandusky Vacationland!”
