Description
This scarce circular, published by the Santa Cruz-based Handbook Collective, provides a ‘tour guide’ to the San Francisco Financial District. Rather than enjoying the fine architecture or local restaurants, the audience is encouraged to protest the large corporations raking in massive profits while simultaneous engaging in a variety of unethical practices, environmental destruction, foreign meddling, and more. Some of the worst offenders, according to the accompanying evocative (if biased) text, are General Electric, Pacific Gas & Electric, Westinghouse, and DuPont. A small map on the back cover presents a recommended tour route – a striking contrast to the more ‘business friendly’ guides that were more widely published.
