This informational poster map was created and produced by the Civic Education Service for Scholastic Magazines, Inc. and published by the latter in Washington, D.C. in 1969. The vibrant image highlights the enormous border shared between the Soviet Union, China, and the Mongolian People’s Republic.

Vignettes and small captions highlight areas of particular tension between the former Communist allies. Descriptive text at the top of the sheet provides background to the conflict and information on the latest border clashes. Black and white photographs add further context.
