Description

The Interborough Rapid Transit Company was one of several private rail transportation companies in operation throughout New York prior to incorporation by the city around 1940. This map showing the network of elevated and subway lines was published by the Ohman Map Company in 1925.

Jointly operated lines and those under construction are also shown according to a legend in the lower left corner. Stations are labeled individually, with service shown extending into all boroughs except Staten Island. The verso contains a complex list of timetables for each line.
