This map of the western European theater boldly depicts the route undertaken by the 89th Infantry Division during World War II. Hashed lines show unopposed marches, while a solid line depicts advance under opposition. Bright red ink identifies major dates, while small illustrations along the route highlight crossings at the Moselle and Rhine Rivers and re-starting the offensive in April.
A final vignette shows columns of German prisoners marching through a shattered swastika. Army Corps assignments of the 89th are listed in the lower left, while various units comprising the division (including those attached temporarily) are credited in the upper right of the sheet.
