Description

This amusing Rock and Roll Map of the World was drawn by Justin Carroll and published in 1983 by Artemis, Inc – the same year the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation was established.

Though most countries’ borders are recognizable, their names have been replaced with a variety of humorous puns related to popular bands in the broad genre of rock and roll music. U-2nited States, Queenland, Sydney Vicious, the U Yes S.R., and Iggy Papua are just a few examples. The theme extends into outer space, with Bill Halley and the Comets, Moonudo, and the Jefferson Guitarship also illustrated and labeled.
