This ephemeral flyer highlights the proliferation of right-wing radio and television broadcasts across the United States during the 1960s. The broadcasting sites for seven popular conservative programs are pinpointed across the map, emphasizing a ‘diseased’ nation. If the imagery wasn’t convincing enough, then accompanying quotes taken from the programs in question are included to inform the audience about their content.
A note in the lower right indicates the sheet was likely issued in 1965 by the Committee on Political Education (COPE) of the AFL-CIO. A similar example in the PJ Mode Collection of Persuasive Maps at Cornell University is dated 1963.
