Description

This interesting composite map was designed in 1994 by the Ravinia Strategic Planning Commission to accompany the plan for the community’s future released that same year. Vibrant color has been applied to a simple outline and 42 listed landmarks are numbered and identified within.

A sketched view of the downtown area can be seen at the bottom of the sheet, while the top third is occupied by descriptive information about the small village situated in Highland Park, about 25 miles north of downtown Chicago. It’s best known for the Ravinia Festival, a popular outdoor music venue that hosts a number of concert series every summer. More information about the proposed plan can be found on the verso.
