Description
This tremendous pictorial map of the United States is a visual and cartographic commemoration of the greatest sport to ever be played – basketball. Various assorted illustrations represent the game’s early pioneers and some of it’s most talented players and coaches.
Text roughly corresponding to their geographic location identifies the various teams across league, along with their respective individual histories. A list of important dates in basketball history, as well as a key for the various abbreviations used across the sheet, are also included.
The image was designed by S. Robert Sherby and published in 1992 by World Impressions, Inc. Issued the same year as the ‘Dream Team’ (the greatest team ever assembled in any sport) dominated the Summer Olympics, beating their opponents by an average of 44 points.
