Description
This is a bold statement of India’s political composition in the mid-1970s. States, union territories, and districts are outlined according to the legend in the upper right. Major transportation routes (motor roads and railways) are also noted. States and districts whose names could not be fit onto the map are listed in a table in the lower left.
Second edition, published in Delhi in 1974 under the direction of Dr. Hari Narin, Survey General of India. Several rough manuscript updates add further borders around Pakistan, the Kashmir region, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka

Condition Description: Color printed map well-mounted on old, but quite sturdy, linen. Heavy wear visible in the upper margin, mostly as a result of old tape (some of which is still applied). Manuscript annotations thick in white, black, and blue lines visible in the border regions. Creasing along folds and a few scattered stains and spots of discoloration within the image (see center left, lower right). About good condition overall.
