Description
This clever advertisement was issued by American Airlines Inc. in the July 1940 issue of Fortune Magazine. The husband points at a pictorial ‘flagship map’ that highlights the direct routes offered by AA and its connecting airlines. The wife, looking over an accompanying brochure, is delighted at all the time they can save (two whole days) while traveling on their summer vacation. It would probably be their last for a while, given the U.S. entry into WWII the following year.
