Description

This detailed architectural diagram shows the floor plan and profile of the officers’ and professors’ quarters of the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. It was first established as the Naval School less than a decade prior to publication on the former grounds of Fort Severn. In 1850 the Naval School became the United States Naval Academy and the curriculum was completely re-organized and expanded.

Published in 1854 by the Bureau of Ordnance and Hydrography, the overseeing organization of the school.
