Description
This beautiful ‘City Character Print’ of Philadelphia was first copy written in 1983 by Archar, Inc. of Toronto. This is a somewhat later reduced version, updated to promote the facilities of the Mercy Catholic Medical Center. Apart from a few new logos and the text at the bottom of the page, the image retains its original charm and content.
The colorful aerial view presents a stylized perspective of Philly reminiscent of the late 20th century. Iconic landmarks like City Hall, Veteran’s Stadium, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art (with Rocky, of course) are shown in the same cartoonish style as local retailers, restaurants, and service providers. Caricatured figures are engaged in a variety of amusing conversations pertaining to topics ranging from historic events to points of civic pride.
