Description
This abstract ‘mod map’ was designed by artist Luke Drozd, in conjunction with British Underground, and issued in 2011 at the South by Southwest Music Festival. Inspiration from the piece was taken from an interview by Pete Townshend of The Who, which is quoted extensively on the verso.
The band extensively influenced (and was influenced by) British mod culture, a unique blend of music and fashion that was popularized in the 1960’s. The image includes three inset maps which identify the location of prominent mod clubs.
