This uncommon booklet charts the WWII campaign of the 96th Infantry Division, nicknamed the Deadeye Division. Pictorial covers show a simple map of the training camps on the West Coast before debarkation across the Pacific and vicious engagements on Leyte and Okinawa. The pamphlet unfolds to show a chronology of major events in the war between the unit’s activation (8/15/1942) and V-E Day (5/8/1945). It also includes several photographs and an article titled ‘The Men Who Fight’ by Nixon Denton of the Cincinnati Times-Star.
