Description

The Exposition Internationale des Arts et Techniques dans la Vie Moderne (International Exposition of Art and Technology in Modern Life) was held in Paris between May and November of 1937. This stylized preview and advertisement for the French Line fleet of Transatlantic steamships was drawn by G. Gallibert and published in the January, 1937 edition of Fortune Magazine.

The abstract panorama incudes several of the city’s landmarks, including the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe, which celebrated its centenary during the festivities. It would be the last World’s Fair held in France until 1947.
