‘The World – Wide Mission of Presbyterians’ – verso

This map of the world was issued as a cooperative publication between three different Presbyterian organizations across North America. It highlights the denomination’s international footprint in yellow, stretching from Mexico to Japan. Organized National Churches are noted with small vignettes and a chart in the lower center outlines the distribution of missionaries across each region. Of interest are missionaries to China noted as being detained in the United States.

Captioned photographs on the verso capture describe the global efforts, which include the operation of orphanages in India, an amputee hospital in Korea, and a baby clinic in Iran. Published around 1950 as a joint effort by The Board of Foreign Missions of the United Presbyterian Church of North America, the Board of World Missions, and the Board of Foreign Missions.
