Description

This attractive chart is comprised of fourteen separate scenes which illustrate the life-cycle of a California Sunkist orange; from planting in a greenhouse to orange juice for breakfast. The entire end to end process is covered; including heating, fumigating, and the all-important trademarking steps.

The artwork was created by Kendric Ruker and published in Chicago in 1933 by Rand McNally on behalf of the California Fruit Growers Exchange. The NRA logo at the bottom refers to the sponsoring business’ support of the National Recovery Administration, which would be struck down by the Supreme Court as unconstitutional in 1935.
