Description

This uncommon pamphlet was published in January of 1944 (second printing) by the Oran American Red Cross Officers’ Club. It was designed for “transient, lost, perplexed, hungry, ennuid, entertainment-seeking, research-minded, destitute, searching, or just plain curious AMERICAN OFFICERS” station on leave (or duty) in the North African port city.

A brief history extracted from Encyclopedia Britannica is accompanied by an index of locations of interest and military facilities. A centerfold street plan labels numerous buildings relevant to both work and play; including hotels, theaters, offices, and more.
