Description

Opryland USA (later Opryland Theme Park) opened in 1972 in Nashville and was billed as “the home of American Country Music.” The Grand Ole Opry House took over from Ryman Auditorium to become the seat of the Opry in 1974, and the Opryland Hotel was completed in 1977. The park continued to grow, and 1983 saw the opening of the popular Grizzly River Rampage.

This map was likely issued shortly thereafter to advertise the new attraction. Bright colors highlight the various regions according to a legend in the lower left, while a second key on the opposite side of the sheet identifies the various symbols use throughout the image.
