Description

This charming 1972 yardage book for the Old Course at St. Andrews is attributed to Paul Jordan and GOLFPLANS of Poulton-le-Fylde in England. Each of the historic courses’ 18 named holes is laid out so the player can carefully plan their shots. Many of the most prominent hazards are named, including the infamous Road Bunker on hole #17.

The Old Course at St. Andrews, known as the “home of golf,” has a history stretching back to the early 15th century, when the sport was first played on its rolling greens. Initially, the course evolved naturally, with its layout shaped by the landscape and grazing animals. In 1764, the course was standardized to 18 holes, a decision that became the foundation for modern golf course design. It remains open and available to the public today as both a pilgrimage site and a challenging course.
