Description
The 1968 HemisFair, held in San Antonio, Texas, was an official World’s Fair celebrating the city’s 250th anniversary and the unity of the Western Hemisphere with the theme “The Confluence of Civilizations in the Americas.” The host city was well poised (geographically and culturally) to celebrate the best of North and South America. Thirty different nations participated and the six-month event drew over 6 million visitors.
This colorful souvenir is a vibrant commemoration of the HemisFair. A centerfold view provides a detailed overview of the grounds, while two illustrated interpretations provide fantastical scenes. The front and back covers can be disassembled to create a paper replica of the Tower of the Americas, the architectural centerpiece of the fair.
